Synopsis

"Shutter Island" is the story of two U.S. marshals, Teddy Daniels and Chuck Aule, who are summoned to a remote and barren island off the coast of Massachusetts to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a murderess from the island's fortress-like hospital for the criminally insane.

Comments: Best movie ever! It was very mind twisting and the story line was excellent. As I was in the theatre I could over hear alot of "WHAT THE!" and "NO WAY" and so on. It really took the audience at surprise.

Comments: I went into this movie expecting a lot of suspense and almost a "horror" type movie. If you go expecting this, I think you will be very disappointed. It turned out to be one of those "twisted" movies..... you think one thing while it's actually something else- and it keeps you thinking the whole time. It's really more of a drama than a thriller, but I found the story was captivating and although it was over 2 hours long, I didn't notice until it was over.

Comments: The story is question able but overall it is a good flick. Note: pay attention to everything in the movie if you are going to understand the ending. Good movie though, would reccomend it.

Comments: this is a thriller, not action, not horror and its exactly that. its tense from the moment they set foot on the island til the end of the film. Theres not multiple or conflicting story lines and if you poses some level of intelligence it comes together at the end. acting is superb, amazing film. (4.5/5).

Comments: I actually fell asleep during the first half of the movie ... very predictable, BORING, and the story line was all over the place. I left the movie thinking " was THAT? That's IT!?!" One of those movies that makes me upset that I spent the money to go see it ... I would've been upset to spend $5 to RENT it, actually ... it was pretty bad ... :P

Comments: Leonardo DiCaprio was fantastic in this movie!! That said though, the movie itself did not live up to my expectations. It took a long time for the story to pick up steam and then the ending left me confused. But overall it was not bad compared to other similar movies I have seen.

Comments: Very Twisted plot, most of it with little or no relation to the story, which made it difficult to follow. Predictable, unbelievable, too far fetched, but some of the best acting by Di Caprio that I have ever seen. Could have been a good story, but not very well thought out.

Comments: Terrific story with a great ending! With carefull attention, the viewer can really feel for DiCaprio's character and can fully understand the story. Took time for the interesting parts to finally lay down, but it's worth the money.

Comments: Leo did the greatest acting of his career in this movie! I thought the twist in this movie was well disguised. The supporting cast were exceptional. All in all the movie's plot was reminiscient of Hitchcock. Well worth the visit to the theater.

Comments: totally confusing, I m still not sure what went on. Discussed it with friends and we think there are at least 3 explanations about what was going on. If some one tells you the ending it will ruin the whole movie,decent movie. I would recommend it

Comments: This movie was very good. Coming out of the theatre I had liked it, but when I thought about it the next day I was amazed! Leonardo DiCaprio gave a really great performance, it was very believable. Mark Ruffalo was great too! Over all I totally loved it and would definitely see it a second (maybe even third) time!

Comments: Wow!!!!This movie was AMAZING, the cinema was packed at the end there was a hush, i almost started clapping it was that good! I was worried it wouldnt meet my expectations but it surpassed them, A MUST SEE as long as you dont find out the plot beforehand, Dont let anyone ruin it for you :)

Comments: Wow, what a movie . Leonardo is at his best. This is an excellent movie and Leonardo disserves the Oscar , this is acting at its best . He is not like Clooney who always seem to be Clooney. The story is great with several nice twists. You watch about 3/4 of the movie then it switches direction and there is even twist to finish it.
