With the aid of Dr. John Watson, his trusted ally, the renowned "consulting detective" is unequaled in his pursuit of criminals of every stripe, whether relying on his singular powers of observation, his remarkable deductive skills, or the blunt force of his fists. But now a storm is gathering over London, a threat unlike anything that Holmes has ever confronted...and just the challenge he's looking for. After a string of brutal, ritualistic murders, Holmes and Watson arrive just in time to save the latest victim and uncover the killer: the unrepentant Lord Blackwood.ProducersSusan Downey, Dan Lin, Joel Silver, Lionel WigramUser Reviews To post a movie review, please login. Just as good the second time around! Lots of action, a real adrenalin rush. It's always good when you can't figure out the ending. Nice for a change to have a lead character actually have a brain and use it!! itech545 1 month ago Comments: good action and funny Bondela 1 month ago Comments: entertaining but I could have watched it on my big screen at home and I would have been just as satisfied Stephy88 thought it was SO-SO 1 month ago Comments: I had high hope for this movie, but most of the funny parts where in the commercial. Lots of action and comedy. midjf97 thought it was GR8 1 month ago sassy4u thought it was LOL and SMART 1 month ago Comments: A witty & intuitive Sherlock Holmes makes this flick a must see. British humor and laughs from begining to end. Great acting by Robert Downey Jr. as well as Jude Law. But Downey REALLY shines in this one. SuperSecretEliz thought it was GR8 1 month ago Comments: Loved everything about this movie, beautifully shot, acted, great script, etc... but it didn't have the edge I've come to expect from a Guy Ritchie film. But still a fun movie and highly recommended. kimshawn thought it was WICKED 2 months ago Comments: Loved this movie, would see it over and over again. Great way to introduce the villain Moriarty. Definite sequel possibilities. Was nice to see London in that perspective; having been there twice before, myself. Great Movie, with a local Actor
I really enjoyed this movie, especially because it was more mystery than anything else. Movies that keep you guessing and make you, the audience become the Detective are fantastic. Not only do they entertain you, but also, it gives you food for thought.
Also this movie featured a big guy, name Robert Maillet, whom by the way, lives in my home town. He did an excellent job. No wonder they made him speak french, when his mother language is French.
Excellent Movie, RDJ acts excellently as usual.
Can't wait for the sequal to this movie :)
Fun, exciting, and very smart!
Well, I am in awe. Not only because this was a good movie, but because Sherlock Homes is back and on fire.
Robert Downey Jr. completely outdoes my expectations, showing us that Mr. Homes can put his extreme intellect to other uses that just mystery.
All throughout the movie, questions are forming in our heads as we watch the choas unfold. Through termoil and trouble, Homes manages to make it through all the way to the final act, which will leave you begging for more.
As you can see, my words are almost done, as I am speechless about this movie. Sherlock Homes has good wit, fun and action, and to top it all off a climax that will satisfy you better than Sir Downey Jr. has ever done before.
Recommended for any movie-goer, have fun, and expect the unexpected.
Peace Out!
Not bad...
Fun movie...lots of action, great to see RDJ shirtless....lol
there could have been more "romance" between him & his ex. also looks like a seguel is in order. ;-)
Sherlock Holmes
A perfectly good movie, but sorry - that isn't Sherlock Holmes. The real Sherlock (as seen in my mind's eye) is never "grubby looking". He is cerebral, and not terribly physical. He is always a gentleman.
Robert Downey plays the character well, but the character "ain't 'olmes".
Sherlock Holmes
Great movie, it has it all: action, comedy, romance and a great cast. The movie had me full of questions and at the end it was all answered with a wonderful surprising ending you won't see coming. I hope there'll be another Sherlock Holmes movie, because I'd definitely go.
