Synopsis"Public Enemies" is the story of legendary Depression-era outlaw John Dillinger-the charismatic bank robber whose lightning raids made him the number one target of J. Edgar Hoover's fledgling FBI and its top agent, Melvin Purvis, and a folk hero to much of the downtrodden public. No one could stop Dillinger and his gang. No jail could hold him. His charm and audacious jailbreaks endeared him to almost everyone-from his girlfriend Billie Frechette to an American public who had no sympathy for the banks that had plunged the country into the Depression. But while the adventures of Dillinger's gang-later including the sociopathic Baby Face Nelson and Alvin Karpis-thrilled many, Hoover hit on the idea of exploiting the outlaw's capture as a way to elevate his Bureau of Investigation into the national police force that became the FBI. He made Dillinger America's first Public Enemy Number One and sent in Purvis, the dashing "Clark Gable of the FBI.'' However, Dillinger and his gang outwitted and outgunned Purvis' men in wild chases and shootouts. Only after importing a crew of Western ex-lawmen (newly baptized as agents) and orchestrating epic betrayals-from the infamous "Lady in Red'' to the Chicago crime boss Frank Nitti-were Purvis, the FBI and their new crew of gunfighters able to close in on Dillinger.CastJohnny Depp, Christian Bale, Marion Cotillard, Jason Clarke, Rory Cochran, Billy Crudup, Stephen Dorff, Stephen Lang, John Ortiz, Giovanni RibisiProducersMichael Mann

I enjoyed the plotline and
I enjoyed the plotline and the action but I do see why so many people hated the movie because it did drag on but truly i did not mind it. Overall I thought it was a great movie and I will buy it when it comes out.
Public Enemies
Just got back from public enemies, and I have to say it was one of the best films I've seen this year. I was hesitant at first because of the user reviews so far, but the trailer made it look good. I didnt expect much, but it was excellent. Lots of action, enjoyable story-line, great acting, amazing special effects, all that jazz. Definatly worth the watch.
Public Enemy
This movie was excellent. Cannot understand anyone saying this was boring. Seemed a lot along the same line as Bonnie and Clyde which I saw 3 or 4 times. So if you like movies that are crime this is it. The acting was great, the movie sets were great and of course Johnny Depp was excellent as always. The only complaint I have is the movie was supposed to start at 9:20 but all the ads it only started at 9:45 so no sense in saying this movie was 140 min long!
public enemies
This movie was excellent, enjoyed the storyline, history of the fbi, etc. I totally enjoyed the movie.
disappointing
I was totally disappointed in this movie. It was boring, long, and had little action. I love Johnny Depp and thought he played the part well, but I am sorry I wasted money seeing this in a theater. It is a rental at best.
Public Enemies - Hollywood at its Worst
Despite star power and great subject matter, this was an incredibly bad movie...first time I have ever fallen asleep at the theatre (my wife did as well)...don't waste your money...doesn't deserve the one star but that's the lowest the scale permits
public enemies
I did not like this movie, it was too drawn out, and long, i wasted my time and money, sorry, Chris MacLean.
Disappointing
I was excited to see this when i saw the trialer for it but when i went to see it i was disappointed. It was slow in the beginning and dragged on. Very long movie that had little action. The story line was not exciting at all. The only thing i liked was Johnny Depp....
