Mamma Mia! The Movie

This movie was surprisingly good. Most recent musicals have had no plot, just a lot of useless songs. But this one had a great plot, great characters, a wonderful story, and enough songs to get the whole theatre singing! It had moments that were sad, funny, heartwarming, romantic, and everything in between. I would definitely recomend it. It's great for mother-daughter bonding, but guys have been loving it, too. It was probably my favourite movie this summer.

This has to be one of the best movies that I've seen in a long time and I love going to the movies. This film was funny. I laughted so hard at times I cried. I truly had to restain myself from singing along to the songs. Can't wait until it comes out on DVD because this will be added to my library of movies.

This movie was a 5 star PLUS. It had funny, sad and romantic moments. I loved it and I am going to take my 5 year old to see it. She loves musicals, and I think she will love this movie..WONDERFUL

Wow! I cannot remember when I have enjoyed a movie as much as this one. It took me to a place in my heart and soul I had forgotten I had. I have urged my grown daughter to get out and see this movie.....I'd go with her if she lived here. I have sent email to friends advising them to go and one has already answered back saying she and her husband went to see it and they both enjoyed it tremendously. Meryl Streep is an amazing actress! This is one DVD I'll be buying as soon as it is available.

In these days of very dark and quite disturbing movies it was Soooooooooo nice to sit back and be entertained. I haven't laughed so much in a long time and I can't get the music out of my head and can't wait for the DVD to come out. I've seen it twice already, once with a girlfriend and once with one of my daughers and keep looking for an excuse to go back again.

The characters are all excellent, although at first the cast choice seemed a bit weird but they all looked as if they were having so much fun - it was infectious!!!

IT IS A MUST SEE !!!!!!!!!!!!

This was the best movie I have ever seen, I have seen it twice and my husband and kids have seen it three times. I will buy the DVD when it comes out. I also have the soundtrack as well.

Seeing this movie twice was not enough! The music is contagious, and the urge to dance in your seat is completely irresistable! You might find yourself singing along (or just mouthing the words if you really don't want to disturb the audience with your lack of perfect pitch, as I did, but I confess I sang aloud quite a bit the second time around!) At first glance, it looks like just another fluffy-chick flick, but the substance of the storyline is something that many people can relate to with regards to each of the characters and the situations they find themselves in (sometimes sad, sometimes comical, but always enjoyable to watch). This movie will leave you singing as you leave the theatre- perhaps even help you rediscover your inner dancing queen!

Fantastic! The story is wonderful, the cast is superb and I love all the songs. It was so much fun to watch from beginning to end. I can only imagine how much fun they had making it. I haven't enjoyed a movie this much in a very long time! I plan on going again and have already got the DVD on my Christmas list.

I haven't smiled and laughed so much in a long time. It was EXCELLENT!! It was such a feel good movie I went out and bought the soundtrack on the way home. It renewed my love of Abba. I plan to see it again and own it when it comes out on video.

As a long time fan of ABBA, I have been dying to see this movie. I wanted to see the broadway musical, this will just have to do. I loved every minute of it. It was worth waiting two days to see it as it was sold out both days I tried to get to it. I loved everything about it. As a guy, I'm not ashamed to say that I cried during Slipping Through My Fingers. It was so beautiful & going with someone who is going through the same thing, makes it even more special.

If you like ABBA, see this movie! Fan of Musicals? See it anyway, but go with someone who loves ABBA!

Mamma mia was the most fun i ever had at the theatres. I enjoyed every single minute of it and pierce brosnon singing was so funny, he can't sing but his voice was great. My favorite songs were all of them but i really enjoyed mamma mia and S.O.S

Go to see this with friends who love Abba and musicals and you'll have optimal fun and enjoyment. All the cast were good but Meryl Streep was outstanding - she can sing and dance very competently and she is obviously having lots of fun doing so. The movie is pure enjoyment. Definitely a movie I'll see again with different friends! Don't miss it....

I have been to the Musical in Toronto so I knew the story line, but I still went to see it 3 times!!!! The music is enough to keep you going!!!!!!!!!! Even my husband loved it...

I had seen the play, so the plot wasn't new to me (I love it, by the way). I was more curious about the movie itself. It is a great way to remember the 70's and 80's (those of us who lived them) and Glenn Close (great!) and the rest of the cast (good) do a good job taking us back in time. It's pure enjoyment or fun. Nothing pretentious. Sit back and relax!
