Even better than I expected!
I remember watching Julia Childs on TV growing up. Meryl captured her wonderfully. This was a very funny movie - laughed out loud! Well acted by all. 2 thumbs up from me!
Great
An enjoyable movie at its best. I went with my mother to watch this film. We laughed althoughout the movie. The only charater I did not like was Julie but Julia (Meryl) made it worth the while :)
Wonderfully delicious!!
What a wonderful night at the movies!! A great way to spend some quality time with your other half or even yourself!!! Julie/Julia does not disappoint!
Lots of good, clean fun!
I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard, and right out loud at a movie! In fact, there were times we laughed just because the audience was laughing so hard. Good, clean fun. No blood and guts (unless you count cleaning chicken), no cursing (except once, near the end, and it was so unexpected it was funny). And Meryl is definitely not getting older...she's getting better. She has such fun with her roles. Don't wait for this to come out on video...it's one that really is worth going to the theatre to see. By the way guys, don't think it's just a chick flick. The guys were laughing just as hard as the ladies. So just GO!
High 5 / 5 Thumbs Up
We had a 'GIRLS' night last Saturday and went to see this movie. It was perfect with loads of laughs. Each of us ladies were at least 10 years apart in age and we could all relate to who Julia Childs was. Like other reviews, we saw that there were allot of women in our age groups that were there as well. It's about time something like this came out. Usually you see the younger generations out on a Saturday evening but with this movie you got to see thoughs who stay away because of the kids who just hang around the theatre. Thanks Julie & Julia. It ended too ..... (can't think of the word) ....... Anyone who saw the movie would understand.
I will still give this movie a high 5 and 5 thumbs up though and will probably take my daughter to see it this weekend.
great movie
Very funny and it was so nice to see a lot of older women coming in with their daughters. I'm sure they hadn't been to a movie in years but there was a couple of vulgarities I am sure they didn't enjoy but possibly overlooked. Meryl Streep was as good as ever.
Just fantastic
5 Star rating for this movie...the time periods are so well interwoven into this movie that one hardly notices that there are decades in between them. Meryl stole the show as usual with her high pitched voice..which I did find at times a bit over the top but well in character. Can't believe she was the same tough nut to crack in Devil wears Prada...complete transformation of character. The movie was edited beautifully, it was interesting, funny, entertaining and kept you wondering what's next even though you may know nothing about cooking... All in all, every actor contributed to the movie and it was thoroughly enjoyable.
Recommended for a fun filled, light, relaxing, pleasant evening kind of movie and yes there is a lot of KISSING.
Worth seeing...
I really enjoyed this....the "julie" character was a bit annoying & whiney..but "julia" made up for her...lol
even my husband liked it.
Wonderful!
This was the BEST movie I've seen in a long time! Charming, funny, clever and delightful. An honest-to-God feel good movie! Go now. Just buy your tickets and go. You will not regret it.
loved it!
I found this movie thoroughly enjoyable! It was smart and funny!
