Synopsis

"Dear John" tells story of John Tyree, a young soldier home on leave, and Savannah Curtis, the idealistic college student he falls in love with during her spring vacation. Over the next seven tumultuous years, the couple is separated by John's increasingly dangerous deployments. While meeting only sporadically, they stay in touch by sending a continuous stream of love letters overseas -- correspondence that eventually triggers fateful consequences.

Comments: I thought it was quite boring actually. I thought there was going to be more going between the characters. The ending didnt sum everything up so I think people will get dissappointed.

Comments: I was disappointed. I generally love Nicholas Sparks books/movies but this movie failed to deliver. I think I may have hyped it up a bit too much in my mind since I also LOVE Channing Tatum. I didn't like who was cast as Savannah and the storyline was choppy. I really didn't like the ending. Read the book and wait for the DVD.

Comments: This movie was okay. It was one of those movies that you watch the entire thing, hoping the ending will bring it all together. But then it just ends. I wouldn't reccomend spending money to go see it.

Comments: Good love story, drama with an unexpected sub-story line between the male character & his father. Similar to the Notebook in how it makes you feel true love should be felt between two people and great acting by the main characters. A chick flic for sure but if you also like a good story, this movie has one.

Comments: I went to see this with my teenage daughter and we thought it was fantastic, very similar calibre to The Notebook, both Amanda seyfried and Channing tatum were amazing together and the story is fantastic, a REAL TEAR JERKER and some really unexpected twists in the storyline. A MUST SEE!

Comments: I haven't had a chance to read the book yet but definately want to now. I have yet to be disappointed with a Nicholas Sparks book which has been made into a movie and this is no different. Within minutes, I was already emotionally involed with the characters and through the whole movie, my heart strings were tugged. My boyfriend even liked the movie but admits - it definately is a chick flick! Bring the tissues for sure girls!

Comments: as almost every good book that was turned into a movie the book is better an i strongly beleve that for this movie the movie was still cute and wonderful to see and you will cry and i will tell everyone to see it but i will also tell everyone who enjoys the movie to pick up the book and read it a 1000 times :)
