One of the greatest horror movies of the 1980s. An unsettling mix of laughs and scares, An American Werewolf in London features some of the most gruesome and shocking practical special effects ever filmed, courtesy of Oscar winner Rick Baker. Kudos to stars David Naughton and Griffin Dunne as the two doomed American tourists, who have a terrifically funny rapport. Even if its tone is occasionally uneven, and despite one of the most abrupt endings ever, this movie is a hilariously gory treat. I can't wait to see this one on the big screen.
