Frequently Asked Questions

I have my text message, how can I click on the link to access my Mobile Coupon?

Most new mobile devices will allow you to scroll through a text message and click on a link (like you would on your home computer). You may have to click a “Go”, “Ok” or “Navigate” button. However, if that is not an option, we have listed some things you can try below. Unfortunately there is no standard set of instructions - each mobile device is different and thereare hundreds of models in Canada:

1. While looking at the text message, click your “Menu”, “Options” or “More” button. Once you do this, you should be presented with a menu with an option labeled “Go to”, “Navigate”, “Open Wap”, “Use Detail”, “Use Link”, “Click Link” or something similar. You may have to select “Ok”, “Go” or “Navigate” as a second step. Selecting this option should load your coupon page.

2. If Option 1 does not work, open your text message and write down the URL (website address) carefully and then go to your mobile device’s web browser. Once there, type in the address (being sure to include the http://) and confirm you want to visit it (like you would on your home computer). Be sure you have inputted the url exactly as it appeared in your text message or it will not work. Selecting this option should load your coupon page.

If this does not work, you may not have internet enabled on your mobile device. A mobile device with internet access is required to participate in this promotion. If you are certain you have internet enabled on your mobile device, but the link will not load please use our online contact form to let us know your provider and we will follow up with them.

When I click on the link I receive a message that says "Access Denied", but I do have internet access on my mobile device.

Unfortunately, some mobile providers block access to certain pages on mobile browsers. We are following up with both those providers to request they stop blocking these (and future) coupons from Empire Theatres for their customers. If you experience this problem with another mobile provider, please use our online contact form to let us know who your provider is and we will follow up with them.

Why can't I go to the page when I click on the link?

If the steps above have not helped, WAP might not be set up correctly on your mobile device or you may not have internet as an available option within your monthly mobile package. Please ask your wireless carrier how to adjust your settings.

When I click the link in my text message I receive a coupon, but it has a serial number and no barcode. Will this work?

Yes you can still use your coupon. Some mobile devices that have smaller than normal screens are unable to display a full barcode. When you present the coupon the staff member will simply type in your serial number instead of scanning a barcode.

If I click the link when I receive the coupon, will I still be able to access it when I go to the theatre?

We encourage you to click the link within the text as soon as you receive it, to ensure you are able to access the coupon on your mobile device. You can click on this link as many times as you want, it will return the same unique-to-you coupon each time. However, this coupon is unique and once scanned into the system at the theatre, it will not be accepted again.

Are there any costs for using the site or sending text messages to EMPIRE (367473)?

Empire Theatres will not charge you any additional fees beyond the plan you have with your wireless carrier for using empiretheatres.mobi or for sending Text Messages to EMPIRE (367473). Depending on the data and text messaging plan that you have, standard charges from your mobile provider may apply.

Will Empire Theatres share my phone number with anyone?

No. Empire Theatres values your privacy. We will not disclose your phone number to any third party to enable it to market its products and services without first obtaining consent from you.

Can I access my Mobile Coupon on my computer?

You need to show the coupon on your mobile device at the theatre to be scanned in order to participate in this promotion. The link that you click in order to access your coupon is a special one that can only be accessed from a mobile device (it will not work on a regular computer or laptop).
