We are looking for a strong, result driven leader to fill the position of General Manager, for our Empire Theatre Location in Saint John, New Brunswick. This dynamic location features 10 screens, stadium seating, surround sound, Zone (interactive gaming), licensed food options (New York Fries, Pretzel Maker, TCBY ), and is a prime destination for Birthday Parties, Corporate Events and Theatre Rentals.
Our General Managers are accountable for all aspects of day-to-day operation at their location. Responsibilities also include:
- Training & Development of our Cast & Management to deliver an excellent service experience to our Guests.
- Fiscal accountability (budgeting, cost management, revenue control, labour/scheduling, business analysis)
- Ensuring a Safe environment for our Cast and our Guests.
- Managing our Food Operations (quality, inventory control, food cost, merchandising, food safety).
- Active Community Involvement (involvement with local business associations, community events, productive networking, local theatre marketing and promotions).
- Managing Repairs & Maintenance to ensure theatre meets Empire Theatre standards.
- Active involvement in both promoting and successfully executing Corporate Events, Rentals, Birthday Parties and Alternative Programming.
The successful candidate will have a University or College Degree in business or related fields. They must have at least 3 years Management experience in a similar role in the hospitality/food service industry. Experience in successfully leading a team of least 3-4 full and part time Managers. The ability to deliver timely, quantifiable results is a must. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills coupled with a solid understanding of financial analysis for a business setting. They will also have a commitment to excellence and a strong willingness to learn.
