Empire Theatres is proud to support community organizations on a local, regional and national level. Since 1978, we have been involved in supporting the neighborhoods that we live in and feel that it is important to be able to give back to the communities. We are dedicated to making a difference through donations, sponsorships and event participation.
On a national level, we are proud sponsors of Kids Help Phone. Every year, Kids Help Phone’s professional counsellors answer calls and online questions from young people in approximately 3,000 communities across Canada. Their counsellors are there to provide immediate and caring support, information and, if necessary, referral to a local community or social service agency, no matter what the problem or concern.
We are also proud supporters of the following youth organizations and events:
1. Big Brothers Big Sisters
2. Salvation Army’s Christmas Toy Drive
On a national level we are also committed to supporting industry events that encourage and promote the film industry.
We are proud supporters of the following events:
1. Atlantic Film Festival
2. View Finders, International Youth Film Festival
3. Edmonton International Film Festival
4. Vancouver International Film Festival
5. Victoria Independent Film and Video Festival
We have developed this online Donation and Sponsorship application with guidelines and criteria in order to ensure that we evaluate each proposal equally. Although there are many organizations that need support, unfortunately we are not able to assist them all due to the numerous requests that we receive.
Evaluation Process:
Empire Theatres will consider requests from organizations, programs and initiatives that:
1. Support children and youth in the community
2. Support local and national film industry organizations
Proposals must be submitted a minimum of 4 weeks prior to the event or time when seeking a donation and a minimum of 16 weeks when requesting sponsorship. In order to be able to review all organizations seeking support, we will not accept applications from a group more than once a year.
Upon submission of your Donation and Sponsorship form, your request will be reviewed by a regional team member. If your organization will be receiving support from Empire Theatres, you will be contacted within 2 weeks of donation request date and 12 weeks before your sponsorship date, either by telephone or email.
Due to the large number of requests we receive, we are unable to provide individual status updates. A confirmation that your submission has been received will be sent to your email address once you have completed the application form and submitted it. While we acknowledge the hard work of great organizations across the country we unfortunately, will not be able to respond to every request and therefore only those applications that have been approved will be contacted.
