Empire Theatres Limited is a 100% owned subsidiary of Empire Company Limited with its corporate headquarters in New Glasgow, NS and regional offices in Halifax, NS, Toronto, ON and Calgary, AB.

As of September 30, 2005, Empire Theatres operates 51 theatres (plus one Drive-In in Westville, NS and one IMAX theatre in Halifax, NS) representing 377 screens throughout Canada.


Empire Theatres is Canada 's second largest Cinema Exhibition Company. With approximately 3,000 employees, Empire Theatres provides excellent employment opportunities for the youth of Canada in an exciting and energetic industry.
